Previous Proximal Row Carpectomy Wrist Fusion Plate

Reference #:

2007-069

Inventors/Contributors

Scott F.M. Duncan, M.D., Marianne V. Merritt, R.N., Anthony A. Smith, M.D.

Description

Proximal row carpectomy is frequently a successful surgery, alleviating pain from the arthritic joint. However, when revisions must be performed, there is no suitable plate currently commercially available. To address that need, we have designed a low contour plate with an anatomic fit. With 2.7 mm locking screws proximally and 2.0 mm locking screws distally, there would be a slotted hole proximally for compressing the plate across the fusion site, as well as another hole distally for a compression screw across the radius and capitate head.
