Eosinophil-specific Promoter

Reference #:

1998-038

Inventors/Contributors

James J. Lee, M.D., Ph.D., Nancy A. Lee, M.D., Ph.D.

Description

Investigators have isolated regulatory sequences from the murine EPO gene that permit eosinophil-lineage specific expression in transgenic mice. No other available sequences, human or mouse, have been shown to confer eosinophil-specific expression in transgenic mice. Transgenic mice resulting from the use of this promoter fragment would be essential for studies of therapeutics thought to act upon eosinophils, eosinophil activation and/or degranulation.
