Description
These cell lines express a protein (APP) that is cleaved to form the Amyloid beta protein (Abeta) deposited in Alzheimer's disease. Compared to other cell lines they produce extremely high levels enabling routine detection of even minor Abeta species (e.g. Abeta 42) in as little as 4-6 hours. Lysates and subcellular fractions from these cells can also be used for in vitro gamma-secretase activity assays.
