Reference #:

2007-003

Inventors/Contributors

John L. Black, III M.D., Dennis J. O'Kane Ph.D., David A. Mrazek M.D.

Description

A new allele resulting from a crossover between two genes known as cytochrome P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) and the cytochrome P450 2D7 pseudogene (CYP2D7). The specific CYP2D6 allele involved is CYP2D6*2A and the crossover occurs in the region of intron and exon 8 to exon 9. We call this new allele “CYP2D6*2A – CYP2D7”. The function of this allele is expected to be reduced or absent.
