Plasmodium Falciparum Signal Peptide Peptidase cDNA Plasmid Constructs

Reference #:

2007-155

Inventors/Contributors

Todd E. Golde, M.D., Andrew C. Nyborg, Ph.D., Thomas L. Kukar, Ph.D.

Description

These are circular DNA plasmid constructs that encode for a gene called signal peptide peptidase. The gene has been codon optimized to express in mammalizan cells as opposed to the parasite and each construct has an epitope tag so that is can be detected by that anti-epitope antibody. One construct contains a FLAG tag at the NH2-terminus and the other construct contains a V5 tag at the COOH-terminus. When expressed transiently in 293T human embryonic kidney cells these constructs generate a protein that is detected at about ~35 kDa when analyzed by SDS-PAGE and Western blot analyses.
