Description

An interactive patient manual to assist the health care provider in delivering an effective intervention to patients who use tobacco. The structure of the manual with graphs and illustrations is supported by a motivational approach and is designed to facilitate behavior change when used by a trained health care provider as part of the intervention. It is not another self-help material, but rather an interactive tool which emphasizes patient participation in understanding tobacco as an addiction. The manual actively engages the patient in developing a treatment plan that emphasizes the importance of quitting and building confidence that they will be able to do so.
