Description

The SLC6A4 gene (also referred to as HTT, 5HTT, OCD1, SERT, 5-HTT, and hSERT) encodes an integral membrane protein that transports the monoamine neurotransmitter serotonin. Several functionally relevant, novel polymorphisms for the SLC6A4 gene have been discovered.
