Description
We define biochemical tau species, called tau multimers, in vivo both in mouse models of tauopathies and human tauopathies. The levels of these species are tightly linked to the extent of memory impairment as well as other deficits caused by tau. Our study identifies a therapeutic target for human tauopathies - these include strategies aimed at preventing the formation of these species or removing it.
